I have Russell's death certificate, stating Simon is father, I have him with a sister Betsy. I have never been able to find any more about his parents; mother is listed as Patty given or surname I don't know. (Ann McAllister on Ancestry.com message board on 27 feb 2000)

Alvin married Abigail Guptil, daughter of Nathaniel Guptil and Olive Rhodes, before 1830. (Abigail Guptil was born in 1800 in Waterboro, York County, Maine, died on 23 Oct 1866 in Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont and was buried in Hope Cemetery in Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont.). The cause of her death was Typhus Fever.
