McEwen, Malcolm, of Scottish descent, moved into Weathersfield at an early day,
and married Lvdia Plant. They had five children, viz.: Betsey, who married Reuben
Strow ; James (deceased), married, but left no descendants ; Archibald, became a physi-
i;ian, and practiced a number of years in Cavendish, and left no issue; Nancy, married
Isaac P. Strow ; and Francis, who died West, leaving no descendants.

"J R and J D Strow- Prominent among the representative citizens and early settlers of Fort Dodge are the gentlemen whose names head this sketch. they are natives of Windsor County, Vermont, the former born June 19, 1923 and the latter in 1831. They are sons of Reuben and Elizabeth (McEwen) Strow, the former of English and the latter of Scotch descent. The father was killed when his son John D. was but a lad and the widow afterwards went to Dane County, Wisconsin to live with a daughter and died there is 1868. Of their family, four are now living, Maria, wife of Solon Divoll of Stoughton, Wisconsin, James R; Harriett wife of P. P. Filmore of Aurora, IL and John D....."
