There were 4 Adult men with the name Gubtail/Guptil in Waterbury VT from very early times. The first arriving ca 1798 from Maine and the other 3 followed, also all from Maine, within about a 10 yr period.Thomas, Humphrey, Winthrop & Nathaniel (brothers) came to the Waterbury/Waterbury Center area in the later 1700s

Thomas married Lydia Gerrish on 20 Aug 1763. (Lydia Gerrish was born circa 1754 in York County, Maine.)
