Hanson HOOKER (1800 - 1844) was born the son of Robert Deakins HOOKER and Ruth PRATHER Hooker. Hanson Hooker's father, Robert Deakins Hooker, had been a Revolutionary War patriot in the years previous to Hanson Hooker's birth.
Hanson Hooker's birth date of 20 April 1800 and his church baptism date of 6 June 1800 are recorded in the church baptism records of Saint Peter's Parish, which was located in Beallsville, Montgomery County, Maryland.
Hanson Hooker's father was a planter in Montgomery County, Maryland, where Hanson Hooker grew up. During his boyhood years in Maryland, Hanson Hooker's parents died, leaving him and his siblings orphans. An auction to settle the estate of his parents was held in Montgomery County, Maryland, on 14 January 1815.
Shortly thereafter, when he was about fifteen years old, Hanson Hooker migrated westward from Maryland to Ohio, as did several of his siblings after the death of their parents in Montgomery County, Maryland. Ohio became Hanson Hooker's home for the rest of his life.
At the age of nineteen years of age, on February 3, 1820, Hanson HOOKER married Susannah YOUNG, in Knox County, Ohio. They were married by Rev. James Ward Pigman.
Hanson HOOKER and Susannah YOUNG Hooker were the parents of 10 children, in sequential order of birth as follows:

4. William HOOKER (1826 - 1907)
5. Rebecca HOOKER Merriman (1827 - 1900)

8. Rachel HOOKER Norton (1833 - 1904)
9. George HOOKER (1834 - 1915)
10. James HOOKER (1837 - 1915)

Hanson Hooker was a farmer and land owner in Ohio.
His presence in Ohio is shown in the 1820 Federal Census of Ohio, showing Hanson Hooker as a resident of Jackson Township, Knox County, Ohio.
For the 1830 Federal Census, Hanson Hooker is shown as a resident of Butler Township, Knox County, Ohio.
By the time of the 1840 Federal Census, Hanson Hooker was living in Grand Township, Marion County, Ohio.
Hanson Hooker died at the age of 43 years of age in present-day Wyandot County, Ohio. He died unexpectedly on Friday evening, January 5, 1844, in a drowning accident while attempting to ford the Tymochtee Creek on horseback on that winter's evening.
Tymochtee Creek is a tributary of the Sandusky River in Ohio. Family accounts have stated that Hanson Hooker's drowning accident occurred near the site of Haner's Mill, which was located on Tymochtee Creek in the 1800s.
Hanson Hooker was buried on one of his farm properties in rural Wyandot County, Ohio. The exact location of his gravesite is unknown at the present time. Family accounts state that a gravestone once marked the site of Hanson Hooker's gravesite, but this gravestone has been lost over the passage of time.
At the time of his death, Hanson Hooker was survived by his widow, Susannah Young Hooker, all 10 of their children, and several young grandchildren who had been born in the years just previous to Hanson Hooker's death.
A few years following his death, his widow, Susannah Young Hooker migrated from Ohio to Spring Grove Township, Green County, Wisconsin in 1851. She is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Spring Grove Township, Green County, Wisconsin.
Today, there are hundreds of descendants of Hanson Hooker and his wife Susannah Young Hooker. Their descendants reside from coast-to-coast.
