FOREST - Wayne W. Thompson, Kenton and formerly of Forest, died at 10:58 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton. He was 75. Born in Wyandot County on Dec. 8, 1928, he was a son of Harry M. and Stella (Mallifsky) Thompson. He married Mary Lou (McEntee) Price on Aug. 13, 1945. They later divorced. Surviving are three sons, Steve, Tim and Louis, all of Forest; a stepdaughter, Pat Searfoss, Forest; a stepson, John McEntee, Kenton; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Frank, Carey; and Harry, Moore City, Okla.; and a sister, Viola Albert, Findlay. He was preceded in death by a son, William; three brothers, Lloyd, Dwight and Charles; and a sister, Gayle Thompson. A 1946 graduate of Forest High School, Mr. Thompson went on to graduate from Tiffin University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II during the occupation of Germany. He retired from Central Soya in Marion in 1991. Mr. Thompson was a member of Senate Lodge No. 378 F&AM in Forest, Latham Chapter No. 364 OES in Kenton, Kenton Moose No. 428, AMVETS Post No. 1994 in Kenton and McVitty VFW Post No. 1182 in Forest. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Shields Funeral Home in Forest, with the Rev. Brett Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Hueston Cemetery, Forest, with McVitty VFW Post No. 1182 and American Legion Post No. 259, both of Forest, conducting military graveside rites. Visitation is at the funeral home Sunday from 2-8 p.m. There will be a Masonic memorial service at 6:30 p.m.
