Robert "Bob" Fleming, 80, of Tupper Lake, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Plattsburgh Rehab & Nursing Center. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 25, 1937, the son of Florence (Daniels)and Carl Fleming. He attended schools in Plattsburgh before moving to Tupper Lake to work and he married Saundra Poirier on April 18, 1959 at St. Alphonsus Church. Bob was retired from Sunmount DDSO after 37 years of combined service in the kitchen and housekeeping departments. After retirement, he enjoyed walking, fishing, seeing his grandchildren and visiting with neighbors. He also enjoyed puttering around his apartment, always had a cup of coffee and his newspaper and enjoyed watching Yankee baseball on TV. He was pre-deceased by his parents, his wife of 53 years Sandy, daughter Carla Rae and three sisters, Jean, Bea and Shirley. Bob is survived by 7 children; Dale of Tupper Lake, Kevin of Saranac Lake, Tina Stitzel and spouse Kelly, of Grovetown, GA., Carl and his wife Margaret of Norfolk, VA, Erick of Tupper Lake, Tammy Wilson and her husband Brian of Phoenix, AZ and Cheryl Rivers and her husband Carl of Tupper Lake. Grandchildren; Terri Lynn Smith, Danny Fleming, Jesse Fleming, Mathew Fleming, Ava Fleming, Carla Fleming and Jessica Branchaud, Matthew and Jennifer Burnham, Allie Watkins, Holly Leiland & Christopher Fleming, Derrick McFaul, Chase & Caitlynn Fleming, Austin Wilson, Cedar & Ciara Rivers and several great-grandchildren as well. No services are scheduled at this time. A private graveside will be held at a later date at St. Alphonsus cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family is asking to consider a donation to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are entrusted to the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home.
