The family of the late Leo Alphonsus Hepditch announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 61 years Margaret (nee Hickey); children: David (Debbie), Frank (Jamie), Elizabeth Ann and Christina; grandchildren: Nicole (Travis), Ryne (Elizabeth), Elise (Bernie), Tyler (Jenny), Maggie, Corey and Liam; great-grandchildren: Jack, Jesse, Eli and Neveah; brother Francis (Sharon); sister Mary; sister-in-law Mary and daughter-in-law Roxanne; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Paul, parents John and Laura, brothers Johnny, Ray and Pat, sister Sarah Margaret. Leo was a longtime employee with Newtel Communications, he was a dedicated employee for 39 years. In addition, he was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, where he was known for his bar tending skills. He was an avid volunteer within his community and church. A very special thank you to Dr. Penney, Dr. Mahmood and all the staff of the ALU 5th floor, Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Bungalow #2, Protective Services Unit and Bakeapple North Unit. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Thursday and Friday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 7 at 10:30 a.m. from All Hallows Parish, Humber Road with Father Edward Terry officiating. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of one's choice.
