per S. Phaneuf: Warren was living with Gladys & Ralph Lee & their one-year old son, Clyde Fernald Lee, in 1920 Penobscot • Dexter • ED# 91. Warren was a blacksmith [talk about a dying trade!]. By 1930, Warren is married to Bertha M Covel [age 45] [they married in Dexter, ME on November 24, 1920] & has a 10 year old dtr, Cora. He had moved to Exeter, Penobscot, ME and is a farmer [I'd bet that it's the wife's farm]. Bertha died April 20 , 1965. I can't find anything further on either Warren or Cora.

Warren J. Fernald
The death of Warren J. Fernald of this town occurred Thursday, Nov. 8 at his home on Free street after an illness of two weeks. He was born
in Garland in 1880, the son of the late Augustus and Abbie Stray Fernald. He attended the Garland schools and about 35 years ago came to Dexter and opened a shop on Spring street where he engaged as a wheelwright and in doing repair work for thirty years. Five years ago he moved back to the home place in Garland where he farmed until two months ago when he came back to Dexter so his adopted daughter, Doris, could go to High school.
Fourteen years ago Mr. Fernald married Bertha Covel of Dexter, who survives him. Other near relatives surviving are his mother, Mrs. Abbie
Fernald of Marlboro, Mass., two brothers, Walter Fernald of Vineland, N. J., and Harold Fernald of Marlboro, Mass.; and five sisters, Mrs. Arthur Austin of Parkman, Miss Mabel Fernald of Marlboro; Miss Bertha Fernald of Brooklyn, N. Y.; Mrs.
Harry Johnson of Dexter and Mrs. Ralph Lee of Bradford. The deceased was a member of the Dexter Grange.
Funeral services were held Friday at 2:30 from the home in Dexter, Rev. William J. Metz of the Universalist church officiating. Interment was at
Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
