Raney Sr., Earl Newark Valley: 84,went to sleep in Jesus on June 7, 2011 at Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his loving wife Marilyn.
He is survived by daughters Laura Messersmith, Carol Sikorski, Diane Walker, Marilyn Raney. Sons Earl Raney Jr., Scott Raney, Robert Raney; brother Robert Raney; sisters Eleanor Slezak and Dorothy Creveling; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends too many to number.He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Marines and was a member of the Seventh - day Adventist Church. He was a lover of nature and family and was a shining example of being truly content with the simple things in life. Earl is now waiting to hear the voice of his Savior call on the resurrection day. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 2pm at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc. 428 Main Street Johnson City. His pastor the Rev. Kevin Dunn will officiate . Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday at 12 Noon until the time of the service at the Barber Memorial Home.

Earl married Marilyn Phoebe Courtright. (Marilyn Phoebe Courtright was born on 5 Apr 1933, died on 13 Apr 2007 and was buried in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Broome County, New York.)
