TROY, N.Y. \endash Cherry E. (Delisle) Spaight, 99, of Troy, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017. One of 12 children, born to Arthur and Amaryllis Delisle of Northampton, Massachusetts.
Cherry worked for many years at the Miss Florence Diner and the Whately Inn. She was very health conscious and owned and operated a health food store in Easthampton, Massachusetts. She enjoyed the field ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 35 years. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to make cookies and other sweets to share with her family. During her younger days she was an avid bowler. She loved to travel to Florida during the winter months for a number of years. She enjoyed lasting friendships there.
Cherry is survived by her children, Erik (Tim) Straw (Joyce) of Florence, Massachusetts, Melody G. Pisano (Frank) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Laurie D. King (Brian) of Halfmoon, and Harry (Tony) A. Spaight (Kathleen) of Wellington, Florida; her sister Elsie (Leo) Parent of Calabasas, California; she is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who were dear to her. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Cherry was a member of the Clifton Park N.Y. Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Easthampton at the convenience of the family.

Cherry married George Marshall Straw, son of George Alfred Straw and Grace Mary Smith, on 13 Jul 1948 in Brattleboro, Windham County, Vermont. (George Marshall Straw was born on 31 May 1915 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island, died on 11 Jun 1973 in Cooley Dickensen Hospital in Northampton, Massachusetts and was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery in Florence, Massachusetts.)
