Simon E. Straw, Jr. 94 of West Hanover, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Frey Village, Middletown.

Mr. Straw was born in West Hanover and was the son of the late Simon E. and Minnie (Baumgardner) Straw. He was retired from Conrail, where he was a car inspector. He was a lifetime member of the Shellsville V.F.W., West Hanover Historical Society and the Mt. Laurel Community Association. He was a member of the American Legion and the POSA Lodge. He was a member of the Mt. Laurel Church of God, where he served on the church council and was a Deacon and an Elder. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Straw was predeceased by his Wife, Dorothy Straw, his Grandson, Lonnie Straw, Jr., his Sisters, Violet Strausbaugh and Esther Straw and his Brothers, Kermit and John Arlington Straw.
Mr. Straw is survived by his daughters, Carol (Daniel) Jenakovich of Orbisonia, Rhonda (Lyn) Becker of York Haven and Bonita (Gregory) Heckert of Harrisburg; his Sons, Barry (Barbara) Straw of Harrisburg and Lonnie (Kay) Straw of Dauphin; eleven Grandchildren; nineteen Great-Grandchildren; one Great-Great-Granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the Mt. Laurel Church of God, 1295 Piketown Road, Piketown. The Rev. Michael D. Martin will be officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Laurel Cemetery, Piketown.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 10-11 A.M., at the church, prior to the service.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mt. Laurel Church of God, 1295 Piketown Road, Harrisburg, Pa. 17112.

Simon married Dorothy Pauline Meyer. (Dorothy Pauline Meyer was born on 7 Nov 1921 in Loysville, Pennsylvania and died in Nov 2002 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.)
