It is with great sadness that the family of the late Genevieve Hynes announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 14th, 1999 at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: daughter, Philomena Hepditch (Dave) of Stephenville; five sons: Alphonsus (Patricia), Pat, Larry (Eva), Herb (Janice), and Bernard, all residing in Benoit's Cove; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Carrie Viscount, Bay St. George Seniors Complex, Stephenville Crossing; two brothers: Emile Lafitte of Corner Brook and Alex Lafitte of England; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, William, November 7th, 1995; sisters: Angela and Annie; brothers: Tom, Martin, Albert, Larry, Edward and Frankie; and grandson, Richard Hepditch. The family will be receiving friends from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, on Tuesday evening, and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 16th, at 2 p.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Benoit's Cove, Fr. Simon Agboso officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted, or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Genevieve married William Hynes, son of Patrick Hynes and Elizabeth Dodge. (William Hynes was born in 1910 in Benoit's Cove, Bay of Islands, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada and died on 7 Nov 1995 in Benoit's Cove, Bay of Islands, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.)
