It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Colson announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 5th, 2000 at the age of 67 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife: Ida (nee Osbourne); daughters: Beverley and Denise of Corner Brook, Judy and Shirley of Nova Scotia; sons: Gary, Todd (Jane), Kenneth, Bernard (Lisa), Paul (Jennifer), all residing in Corner Brook, and Rick in St. John's; 10 grandchildren; Sisters: Joan (Ward) Jones, Pasadena, Mary (Ernest) Dalley, Corner Brook; brothers: Thomas (Jean) Colson, Corner Brook, Frank (Vera) Colson, Toronto, ON, Lloyd Colson, NS, George Cammie, Corner Brook, and Terry (Lorraine), Pasadena. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Gregory, granddaughter Roxanne, sister Dolly, brother Olie, and parents Edward and Sadie Colson. The family will be receiving friends from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Monday and Tuesday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8th at 2:00 p.m. from St. John The Evangelist Cathedral, Main Street. Interment to Follow at Mount Patricia Receiving Chapel. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations to the Newfoundland Lung Association.
