DAY, Ethel Rachael - Passed peacefully away in the arms of her precious daughter Daphne on December 31, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ethel Rachael Day, aged 83 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Frank (1992), and her grandsons Darryl, Jason and Tommy. Left to mourn with cherished memories her brother; Charlie Warren and sister-in-law; Annie Warren of NL, Sons: Fred Day (Maureen), Neville Day (Dot) of St John's, Terry Day (Sylvia) of The Netherlands, Tom Day (Terry) of NS, Daughter; Daphne (Derrick)Smith of NS, grandchildren: Erika, Christopher and Alexander Smith, Fred Jr.(Karen) Day, Randy (Tina) Day, Lorraine Baker, Delores Penny, Michelle Day, Dana (Dion) Dunn, Trudy (Joe), Leanne Hendry (Bruce),Tony, Darren, Craig, Christian, Kelly, Valerie (Day), Justin (McKiernan)Also 14 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren. Special friends Joan Hodder of NS, Randy and Mary Dwyer of St. John's as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and family. Ethel was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95 and Branch 1 as well as the Ladies Auxiliary. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Tuesday from 10am-12noon, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9p.m., and on Wednesday from 10am- 12noon, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will be held at 2p.m. on Thursday, January 5th, 2012, from Barrett's Chapel with Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
