Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Sunday March 30, 2008 Gordon Joseph Drake of Rushoon, formerly of Oderin in his 80th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Alice; sons John (Leona) of Marystown, Gerard (Elsie) of Brooks, AB, Gordon Jr. (Donna) of Brampton, ON, and Dwayne (Sandy) of Fort McMurray, AB; daughters Sharon of Ajax, ON, Ann-Marie (Art) Walsh of Marystown, Genevieve (Adrian) Murphy of Little Bay, Yvonne (Melvin) Murphy of Parkers Cove, and Lisa (Paul) Lake of Fort McMurray, AB; sister Rita Meister of Nova Scotia; 18 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. Pre-deceased by father Clement; mother Josephine; brother Capt. Peter Drake; sisters Mary, Lucy, Betty, Genevieve, and Bridget; son-in-law Raymond Gaulton; Grandson Joshua Drake. Resting and Visitation to take place from Christ The King Roman Catholic Church in Rushoon on Monday March 31, 2008 from 2pm - 5pm and 7pm - 9pm; Tuesday April 1, 2008 Wednesday April 2, 2008 and Thursday April 3, 2008 from 12pm - 5pm and 7pm - 9pm. Prayer Vigil to take place from Christ The King Roman Catholic Church on Thursday April 3, 2008 at 8:00pm. Funeral Mass to take place at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church in Rushoon on Friday April 4, 2008 at 2:00pm. Internment to follow at Christ The King Roman Catholic Cemetery. In Gordon's memory donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or flowers gratefully accepted.
