Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel 3146 Kimball Ave.
Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and also for one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
Vivian B. Straw 89, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Unity-Point Allen Hospital in Waterloo, of natural causes.
She was born November 14, 1924 in Aredale, Iowa the daughter of Louie and Malinda (Weber) Jones. Vivian graduated from Ackley High School in 1943. She married Raymond J. Straw on September 22, 1945, in Columbia, South Carolina and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2001.
Vivian worked at Roth Drug Store in Ackley, the Produce Company in Indepedence,and the Clean Towel Plant now Aramark, but for most of her life Vivian was a proud homemaker. She was also a long time member of St. Paul Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter; Judith "Judi" Straw of Waterloo.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; 1 Brother, Carl Jones; and 1 sister , Mary Kappel.

Vivian married Raymond Richard Straw Jr., son of Raymond Richard Straw and Nellie Louise Fowlkes, on 22 Sep 1945 in Columbia, South Carolina. (Raymond Richard Straw Jr. was born on 4 Jun 1926 in Washington, Buchanan County, Iowa, died on 1 Apr 2001 in Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa and was buried in Garden of Memories - Waterloo, Iowa.)
