It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Maxwell Whittle of St. Bernard's announces his passing. Maxwell passed away at the his residence in St. Bernard's on Friday, November 27th, 2020, at the age of 87. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife of 53 years Sheila; sons, David (Nicole) of Portugal Cove - St. Philips, Dion (Tracey) of Swift Current, Tony (Debbie) of Hay River, NW, Dwayne (Roma) of CBS, James (Amy) of Pouch Cove; daughters, Charlene Whalen (George) of Heatherton, Claudette Bessey of Innisfail, AB ; 15 grandchildren, Bobbie, Laura, Megan, Hanna, Cheyenne, Justin, Richard, Raymond, Haley, Noah, Adam, Angelica, Rhiann, Lauren, Jacob; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Maxwell was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Elizabeth Whittle; his brothers and sisters Frank, Pius, Tom, Doris, Lillian, Myrtle, Melita, William; son-in-law Bob Bessey.
The Whittle Family will be accepting visitors at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church - St. Bernard's, NL on Sunday, November 29th, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Vigil at 7pm
In order to maintain social distancing and to follow the public health advisory of COVID 19, a walk through visitation will take place. A maximum of 20 people at any one time permitted. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the church and masks are required. Please note that there is no food permitted in the building.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church - St. Bernard's St. Bernard's, NL on Monday, November 30th, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
Cremation to follow and inurnment at a later date.
In Maxwell's memory donations may be made to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Palliative Care Unit.
