ENNIS, Captain William - Passed peacefully away at home, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, June 22nd, 1995, Captain Bill Ennis, formerly of Merasheen islands, aged 52 years. Predeceased by his parents, Stan and Elizabeth Ennis; and brother-in-law George Sainsbury. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife Helen; son Stephen; daughters: Krista and Susan; parents-in-law: Douglas and Elizabeth White of Dunville; five brothers: Richard (Annie), Andy (Evelyn), Jim (Loretta), Phil (Claire) and Jerome (Helen); six sisters: Sheila (Adrian) Hanlon, Flo Sainsbury, Beth (William) Houlihan, Bride (Patrick) MacLennon, Lucy (Rod) Williams and Anita (Jerome) Keefe; six brothers-in-law: Bruce (Peggy) White, Eugene (Betty) White, Ken White, Douglas (Darlene) White, David (Maureen) White and Paul (Marlene) White; two sisters-in-law: Rose (Freeman) Barron and Shirley (George) Rimiller; numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, cousins and special aunt Bride Price (Boston); as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road. Visitation will begin on Friday, June 23rd, at 12 noon - 10:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 26th, at 11:00 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church. Ian Roberts research notes: His father Stan was the son of William Ennis and Ruth Best of Merasheen. His mother-in-law Elizabeth White was nee Ryan of Red Island, Placentia Bay.

William married Helen White, daughter of Living and Living. (Helen White died on 13 Aug 2017 and was buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.)
