Married 26 Nov 1857 in Gilmanton to Elizabeth Ann Ayer d/o James and Cyrene (Straw) Ayer of Newfield, ME who died 24 Apr 1901. Three of four ch survive him: Albert Howard of Lynn, MA; Mary Olive of Brentwood, NH and Hattie Kate Hescock of Rochester, NH

(Elizabeth Ann Ayer was born on 3 Apr 1830 in Newfield, York County, Maine, died on 24 Apr 1901 in Brentwood, New Hampshire and was buried in Brentwood Cemetery in New Hampshire.). The cause of her death was pneumonia.
