A memorial service for 58 year old Richard Dean Straw of Irwin, formerly of Auburn, NE, will take place at a later date in Nebraska City, NE. Richard passed away on Saturday, March 9th, at his residence in Irwin. Survivors include his father, Richard Straw; three daughters, Catherine and husband Jorge Broca, Jessica Straw and significant other Jason Wiley, and Kindra Straw, all of Lincoln, AL, one son, Rickie Straw and significant other Stephanie Clark; 6 sisters, Susan Holm of Defiance, Vicki Straw of Detroit Lakes, MN, Denise Arnold of Council Bluffs, Kari Warland of Fort Dodge, Patricia Straw and Bryanna Prudhome both of Shenandoah; 1 brother, Bryant Straw of Nebraska City, NE, and 18 grandchildren. The Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of the arrangements

Richard married Alice Elizabeth Michon, daughter of Alex F. Michon and Maudie Edmonds, on 5 Feb 1960 in Auburn, Nemaha County, Nebraska. (Alice Elizabeth Michon was born on 5 Apr 1944 in Brock, Nemaha County, Nebraska, died on 4 Jun 2017 in Elk Horn, Shelby County, Iowa and was buried in Cremains.)

Richard next married Sandra Elain Christiansen, daughter of Arnold J. Christiansen and Gertrude L. James, on 17 May 1964 in Rock Port, Atchinson County, Missouri. (Sandra Elain Christiansen was born on 24 Aug 1945 in Nebraska City, Otoe County, Nebraska, died on 24 Nov 2013 in Nebraska City, Otoe County, Nebraska and was buried in Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City, Otoe County, Nebraska.)
