Leo Pius O'Connor

  General Notes:

Leo Pius was born in Clattice Harbor and baptized by Rev. A. Fyme. His godparents were Leo Parsons and Kate Parsons. His mother Margaret Rawlins was married at first to Patrick Cody and they had three daughters, Mary, Josephine and Ellen. After his death she married a man named James Pittman and they may have had a son named Jimmy. After the death of Mr Pittman Maggie married Timothy O'Connor, a widow with 3 sons, and they then had another son who was the above Leo Pius.
According to Maggie's grandaughter, Jean Bruce Hebert, Pius married a woman named Mary but they never had children. She said they lived in Stephenville, NFLD and she thought that that is where he died.
A.F. O'Connor claims his brother died of leukemia but it has never been substantiated.
Mary Moore O'Connor kept a Christmas card from him that came to them sometime in the 1940s but he only signed his name and did not write anything and the envelope is lost or destroyed.
re: Leo Parsons: per census of 1921 of Clattice harbor the only one listed is s/o John and Sarah and born Oct 1897 in Clattice harbor. He would have been only 16 at the time of the christening in 1913 so this is obviously not the one. Parsons were related so Leo is obviously a relative of sorts. Kate may be his wife.
