I know where she was born and where she was living in the late 1800's when Earl Henry Newling was born. We have since found a census with John Newling on it and Charles being three years old, with the right date of birth (Charles is Earl's father and Etta's husband). But I have not found a census with Charles & Etta showing their family yet.[L. McDonald Newling - Rootsweb Message Board March 2005]
