Died Sunday, Jan 26, Mrs. Jennie Gillett Moore, wife of Edward Moore, and daughter of Mark and Sarah Gillett. She was born in Crown Point Dec. 6, 1854.
She was the mother of three children, Dudley and Thomas of Ironville, and Mrs. John Kent, who, with her husband, survive. She also leaves two brothers, Charles Gillett of Mineville, and Elmore Gillett of St. Louis.
Rev. Blackmer preached her funeral sermon at the church in Ironville on Tuesday, Jan. 28, and burial was at Ironville. She was married to Edward Moore, Sept. 11, 1875.
She had requested that if Pat, their old horse, should outlive her she wanted him to carry her to the grave, and the horse was therefore used on the hearse.
Those at the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. C. Warner and Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Hoyt of Ticonderoga; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gillett and son Frank and daughter Nora of Mineville, and Jennie Gillett of Albany Business college.
