Marion R. Foster Foster, Marion R. ALBANY Marion R. Foster, 87, died peacefully Friday, March 14, 2008, at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by her loving children. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna Petraske Ryan. Marion married William R. Foster in 1946 and together during the 1960s and 70s operated Bill's Central Service in Albany. After Bill's death in 1976, she went to work for the NYS Dept. of Labor, until her retirement in 1993. Marion enjoyed classic TV shows, soap operas and crossword puzzles. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She was the loving mother of Marion Rosenthal (Carl), Margaret Gagnon (Joseph), Thomas Foster, J. Gerard Foster (Caroline), David Foster (Katherine) and the late William R. Foster, Jr; sister of Helen Pasquini and the late James F. Ryan; dear grandmother of Brian, Mary Beth, Amy, Gregory, Jennifer, Lori, Kimberly, Jill, Amy and Sara; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews survive. Funeral services Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to the Historic Church of St. Mary on Capitol Hill at 9:00 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Those wishing to remember Marion in a special way may send a contribution to the American Cancer Society
